We are constantly striving to be as transparent as possible with our community. We understand our contributions to wastage is inherit being a fashion brand. However, we are constantly revising our processes to be more sustainable and transparent with our community. It takes so much to create thoughtful, slow fashion pieces. By using dead stock fabrics, working with local manufacturers, repurposing our fabric off cuts into make smaller accessories and boxing bag filler and only dropping small batches of garments this is our small way to positively contribute to the slow fashion industry.
Working in the fashion industry for a few years now, it is abundantly clear how much time, effort and skill goes into producing just a single garment. It is so important to us that the value of craftsmanship and the appreciation for quality clothing is honoured. We want you to love and cherish your pieces not just for one season but for a lifetime. We are aware and understand our impact and responsibility as designers in the industry, and we strive to be innovative, resourceful and transparent. We are so proud to be cultivating a community of conscious consumers that can appreciate the value and process of the clothing they wear.
Dead stock fabrics are leftover materials that don't get used by big brands or textile mills that have over ordered or over produced fabric.
We use an array of locally sourced dead stock fabrics for our designs. This means we use fabric that would have ended up in landfill and make our designs from this fabric. As we cannot control the quantity of this fabric, our garments are often made in very small batches making them unique and limited designs.
We have partnered with local company, Fitness Hero to turn our extra textile offcuts into boxing bag filler! Once our pieces have been cut, all the scraps that are too small to be made into off-cut accessories get sent to Fitness Hero's Sydney HQ, where they are hand stuffed into boxing bags. This means none of our fabric goes to waste.
As a way to be resourceful with our own waste, we have designed specific products to reuse off cuts from our garments.
For example, 'The Reversible Obi Top' was actually designed as a way to combat the fabric wastage from our popular style 'The Puff Pant' . As the tops design includes long skinny straps, these strap pieces are used to fill the gaps when cutting out the pants. This material, which would have otherwise gone to waste, now makes up the perfect matching top to our cult favourite pants.
Our other off cut designs include our Off-Cut Keychains and Car Wheel Accessories.
Most of our pieces are designed, cut and sewn locally in Sydney, Australia. This limits our carbon footprint and wastage caused from packaging as all stock is brought straight from our manufacturers and hand delivered to our studio door.
We use 100% compostable mailers for all our orders sent out to our customers.
As most of our products are made locally in Sydney, Australia it minimises our packaging and helps us reduce our carbon footprint.
We strive to use as minimal plastic as possible and have partnered with our overseas manufacturers to use biodegradable bags for transportation to keep our garments protected.
