Our first customer shoot!

Our first customer shoot!

A way to celebrate you <3

Being born from the markets, Itadaki has quite literally been built off the back of all our beautiful customers and community and all your ongoing support. We have been wanting to do something for a while now that allows our customers to step into our world and see a glimpse into the behind the scenes of the brand. Culture and identity is such an important part of Itadaki and so we knew it was really important that our space and presence is properly represented and aligned with our actual community and their multitude of different body types and cultures.

After putting a call out on our stories we had the difficult task of picking just 6 of you out of the 200 eager customers that expressed their interest. It felt like such a full circle moment as we got to pick customers who we met right at the very beginning during our market days and some who we met just earlier in the year at our very first Sydney pop-up shop. It was really important to us that we demonstrated a diverse range of body types, ages, genders and ethnicity on our platform so even if you didn't get picked we hope that one of the customers chosen could somehow resonate with you.

We would have loved to have picked you all but we gave ourselves the difficult task of carefully selecting our models to represent the ‘Itadaki customer’.

Most of the customers had never modelled before and it was such a surreal experience to get to be on set for their first ever shoot. Shoot days are some of the busiest, most chaotic days but seeing the shoot through the eyes of the customer almost reinvigorated how special these days are for the brand and everyone involved. You have make up artists, stylists, photographers, assistants, models, the whole lot and coordinating everyone is, to be frank, a logistical nightmare. Let’s just say, thank god for our blessed spreadsheets for getting us through the day.

We wanted to make this shoot particularly special for the customers and everyone involved so we set pause in the middle of the day to connect and mingle over a long lunch. Carving out this time is really rare on shoot days specifically ecom shoots but I am so glad we did xxx

I must say, running a brand is definitely not all sunshine and rainbows, but it is days like this that really are the ‘rainbow’ days, the days where we get to meet with our customers in person that really inspires me to continue to grow our small but precious community. It really brings it home to just how important and special this space is and it's something I really want to continue to focus on particularly as we grow.

So much love,

ITADAKI
